What to eat at WordCamp Auckland?

WordCamp Auckland will look after your tummies while you absorb the talks and conversations throughout the weekend. We pride ourselves on getting some unique eats sorted, so when you get hungry – we’ve got yah!

Traditional Hangi

WordCamp Auckland will feature a traditional kiwi hangi for lunch on saturday, prepared and served by Riki Bennett and Kelly King.

Authentic Hangi is cooked in ground ovens from Waitakere and delivers a smoky, earthy taste, this is a staple of New Zealand cuisine and simply a treat for WordCamp Auckland attendees.

Hangi is traditionally a combination of chicken, pork, kumara and potatoes – and for those who don’t eat meat, we will have a lovely combination of vegetables and organic salads too.

Pizza by the Metre

On Sunday we have local italian restaurant Toto’s baking up a storm of pizza’s, where they bake pizza by the metre and have won awards since they were founded in 1993!

Snacks and snackery foods

When we are feeling peckish, local Coatesville market stall owner Liz Curtis, from Hearts Content will have freshly baked muffins, slices, fresh fruit and maybe even scones to help fill the gap between sessions!

The after party?

Theres a huge rugby final on the night of the after-party – while we know thats really stiff competition, we’ve arranged for a quiet relax at Tom Tom’s nearby, which is close enough to find a bar come game time, or head into the city to watch with the rest of Auckland!

While at the after party, food and some drinks will be provided – so let us take care of your tummy and restore you for the following sunday!

Think we forgot coffee?

Nope, we’ve got you covered for the two days of WordCamp Auckland. You’ve got a couple of free drinks on us – but if you run out, either talk nicely to non-coffee drinkers for their cards, or buy more from the coffee cart.
